Reunion Thrashes Maldives

Reunion Thrashed Maldives 4-0 in a disappointing start to Maldives Indian Ocean Island Games 2019.

Vardapin gave Reunion the lead on the half hour mark. Fontaine doubled Reunion's lead in the two minutes later to shock the Maldives. Fontaine scored his second goal of the game halfway through the second half before Sarpedon completed the rout for Reunion.

The second game of Group B will be played between Mayotte and Comoros later today. While Group B has Maldives, Reunion, Mayotte and Comoros, Group A consists of Madagascar, Seychelles and the hosts Mauritius.
